I worked in an outpatient setting for 10+years providing traditional Physical Therapy. In that time, I fine tuned my manual therapy techniques, learned new skills and ultimately walked away with experience that proved to be the stepping stone to the next phase of my career.
In private practice, I knew I wanted to treat patients one-on-one. That individual time with each patient to create a connection is priceless in the healing process and often undervalued. I also knew I wanted to only practice techniques and skills that actually worked. Often in outpatient orthopedics, therapists are bogged down with numbers and I decided that that was no longer what was going to define my style for helping others. No more checking boxes for the sake of insurance reimbursement. No more modalities and a list of exercises that were redundant and therapeutically unnecessary.
During these past 10+ years in private practice, my goal every day has been and continues to be helping my patients get back to everyday tasks and participating in extra-curricular activities pain-free! This is what I am most passionate about and what drives me, professionally.
